My passion for jewelry making started in the midst of a career in the fashion world. I was greatly influenced while designing for Calvin Klein, honing my eye for choosing luxurious, sensuous materials and using them in clean, modern and sculptural forms. While still
inspired by the modern design movement, the best ideas come from spending time at the workbench combining the metal and gems until I find that balance of lightness and fluidity that I want the jewelry to convey. The jewelry is hand wrought in the shop/studio—the simple, timeless shapes are worked one piece at a time. In working each design, I aim for balance in fabricating jewelry with classic, elegant proportions, while keeping a certain earthy rawness derived from gentle finishing techniques, and carefully chosen gemstones. Longtime collaboration with Toyo Kurokawa insures each piece leaves the workshop perfectly executed. We use recycled precious metals and conflict free gems.
